NBA Draft highlights, more shocking trades and some movie talk.

All that anxiety over who's gonna get who is finally over as the NBA Draft was wrapped up yesterday. I actually watched the draft in the cybernook, so for those who missed it, here's what happened...

First Round
This comes with no surprise to any of us as the Clippers selected Blake Griffin from Oklahoma State University. 7'3 Uconn center Hasheem Thabeet went second to the Grizzlies, and Spanish teen Ricky Rubio slipped all the way into number five, straight into Minnesotta's hands. The miracle shot king of Davidson University, Stehen Curry went with no surprise to the Goldenstate Warriors who needed a young up and coming two guard. The Toronto Raptors at number nine ended up with Demar DeRozan to compliment aging swingman Shawn Marion. My fellow Kobe fan Gerald Henderson, slipped into the hands of the Charlotte Bobcats who seem to have a good shot at this year's playoffs. The hopes of landing UNC's Tyler Hansbrough ended early for Laker fans tonight as the Indiana Pacers stole him away at number twelve. At number twenty-nine the Lakers picked Florida State guard Toney Douglas and immeadiatley sold him for $3M to the New York Knicks.

Second Round
To open the second round, the Sacramento Kings selected forward Jeff Pendergraph from Arizona State, DaJuan Summers who slipped into the second round, was taken at thirty-five by the Detroit Pistons. Twitter buddy, Jodie Meeks was selected by the Miluakee Bucks at number forty one, missing the Lakers by just one pick. The Lakers chose Patrick Beverly at number forty two and immeadiatley sold him to the Miami Heat. Saint Mary's Patrick Mills was taken by the Portland Trailblazers at the 55th pick and The Lakers chose to finish their draft day by selecting Texas A&M forward Chinemelu Elonu.

If you haven't heard the Cleveland Cavaliers totally made a mockery out of Shaquille O'neal. How? well here you go;

Trading block created by Cleveland Cavaliers for Phoenix Suns
Cleveland sends: Ben Wallace, Sasha Pavlovic, second-round pick in '10 Draft and $500,000 to Phoenix.
Phoenix sends: Shaquille O'Neal to Cleveland.

Remember how the Suns jersey looked really good on Shaq? Well by acquiring him from the Suns, Shaq has to wear the Cleveland Cavalier's jersey which I think, it's safe to say that it doesn't look good on him, hell Cavs jerseys don't look good on anyone (except for Lebron), the only way they can fix this is to change back to their 90's jersey. If you think the league got messed up by this unfashionable trade, the Orlando Magic pulled off a trade that ultimately left the East Coast scrambled;

Trading block created by Orlando Magic for New Jersey Nets
Orlando sends: Courtney Lee, Rafer Alston, and Tony Battie to New Jersey.
New Jersey sends: Vince Carter and Ryan Anderson to Orlando.

Unbelievable amount of crap. Does New Jersey honestly think Devin Harris is ready to carry the franchise on his own? And why did they even get Rafer Alston, now they have to cut Harris's playing time to make way for "Skip to my lou". Oh and if Orlando thinks Vince Carter will redeem them and get next year's championship, think again bitches!
Let's analyze this shall we? First off you have Jameer Nelson, a scoring type of pointguard and that won't go well with two perimeter playing forwards in your rotation, namely Rashard Lewis and Hedo Turkoglu, assuming that Mickael Pietrus would be sent to the second rotation to make space for Vince Carter who needs to be the go-to swingman, which will also disrupt the ball movement around the arc. With all those outside shots and Vince Carter slashes, the ball will probably hit Dwight Howard a lot less, causing their chances of making quick inside attacks to drop, and even if they found a way to get the ball down low, Dwight Howard would drown in the paint, he would have to face clogs and double teams because of Rashard Lewis's perimeter style play. So basically what I'm trying to say is, Orlando is screwed.

A bunch movies recently came out; The taking of Pelham 123 was awesome, if you haven't watched it you should, and the Hangover is simply overrated. So It seems that almost everyone has watched Transformers, I don't plan to watch it too soon cause the theaters are gonna be packed, and I hate crowded places. It's not awesome to be the last guy to watch it, but I'm not really all that hyped about seeing some HD robots stab each other. But the movie I'm really looking forward to seeing is something you can never even guess, here's a hint, it's the newest Disney movie and it's not Pixar. Yea that's right, starring Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez, Princess Protection Program! If I have to pick between that and all the above mentioned, I'd go with that. It's not showing here for a long time but it's been out in the states for like three days already, but my parents have a flight to the states today, so I asked them to tape that for me. (They're probably wondering why). Hey, I'm gonna be the first guy to see that one!

So that about wraps it up for today's read, hope you guys are happy with your teams draft picks, too bad I can't say the same about those trades though. Have fun watching them movies (can't wait to watch PPP). Holler at you later everyone.
