Gridiron discussion, New Moon, and Allen Iverson.

Okay let's get started, lots to talk about on the blog today, this one is packing it so get ready. We've got our usual sports discussion, Football and Basketball to be precise, plus for you crazy blinded people out there, we have Twilight talk later on, and Allen Iverson trash talk. This is gonna be a good one, so let's do it!

First topic for today is for you Football fans, now, we don't talk about the NFL much on this blog, usually we're talking about the NBA or boxing when it comes to sports, that probably comes with the influence of the area, knowing that the Philippines doesn't follow this league as much, it doesn't get an opportunity to cross my mind when I'm planning out a topic format. I thought of including it today because of a unbelievably bad-ass move Chad Ocho Cinco pulled off during the Bengals and Ravens game last Sunday, if you did not watch the game, man, did you miss out! Let me give a little recap of what exactly happened; Third quarter, Bengals are on offense, Carson Palmer running the play, Chad runs out and Carson spots him, Carson dishes the football over to Chad for a fifteen yard completion, Chad was able to receive but he stepped out of bounds and the officials call it. The play was a bit too close to make a sure call so they review the tape, while the officials are doing this, Chad borrows one dollar from an assistant coach, walks over to the referee and offers him the dollar as a bribe, hoping he wouldn't call the out of bounds. Obviously the referee did not take the dollar and called the out of bounds anyway. It's clear that Chad was just messing around, but the league decided not to take any of his crap and slapped him with a fine. I don't think he should get hit by a fine, I say give the man a freaking Teen Choice Award, or better yet an ESPY! (Video)

Since were talking about Football, Glen Davis of the Boston Celtics has stated in a recent interview, that he plans on switching paths, from the NBA Hardcourt to the NFL Gridiron. Hold on to your seats people, I don't think this is going to happen anytime soon, because he also said that he will only make the transition once he becomes an NBA all-star, sure. Nice to see that this guy has a lot of goals, but can he really pull this off? You can judge for yourself using these high school videos. Yea, he should have stuck to Football.

Fellow straight men, I have a public service announcement, please avoid going outdoors on November 18th, this is the day when all hell breaks loose. It's non other than the premiere of New Moon! (dun dun duuun!) I wanna talk about this real quick, have you guys seen the trailers and teasers for this thing? Besides the fact that my arch nemesis Taylor Lautner spends the whole time walking around without his shirt, the thing I noticed was how fake the wolves look in this movie. They look like a paper mache project of some mediocre kindergartner, seriously, with all the money they made from the first movie, you would think that they at least made the wolves look more realistic? A PlayStation 1 has better graphics than those cheap ass Twilight wolves! Heck, I think Pluto could kick Jacob's ass any day! Suck on that Taylor Lautner!

Another stupid thing I picked up from this Twilight craziness is how they are saying Vampires glisten and sparkle under the sun, what the hell is up with that!? What is this, Swan Lake? Twilight is ruining the image of Vampires all across the world. Before this Twilight crap started, when you say Vampire, people go running scared, they would pick up a cross and a necklace of garlic, fearing the great Count Dracula. Today on the other hand, you say Vampire to a female, they would want to make out with that Vampire. What is so attractive about a rotten, blood sucking, bat becoming, corpse? You see how disgustingly scary they are supposed to be? Whoever wrote the novel "Dracula" must be spinning in his grave out of sheer anger. Poor dude.

I don't want to end this by talking about some Twilight crap, so, does anyone remember the time when Allen Iverson played for the 76ers? Everyone was all over this guy, some were saying that he was the best player in the league, and some even committing the blasphemous act of comparing him to Kobe Bryant. You know, I remember a conversation I had with someone back when Allen Iverson was with the Nuggets, he told me; "Why do you think Kobe's the best? Why not A.I? he's better." The way things are right now, I think that dude has his answer. During the Lakers - Grizzlies game this week, Kobe and Allen Iverson squared off for the sixteenth spot in the NBA's all-time scoring list; needless to say Kobe kicked A.I.'s ass, Kobe dropped 41 points over the Grizzlies and held Iverson to a mere 8 points. Is that an ass kicking or what? So back to Allen Iverson, this guy was signed to a pity contract by the Memphis Grizzlies late in the off-season, it was worth $3,500,000 over a span of one season. Apparently, Allen Iverson thought he had a chance to reclaim the center of attention, thinking that he would be given the starting job. Didn't turn out quite how he wanted it, as Mike Conley and OJ Mayo started over him, because of this and some "personal issues" he decided to screw Memphis and take a personal leave without any return date, word is he might not even return anymore. See what this ballhog did to his career? He totally ruined it, from 20 million dollar all-star, to minimum contract inactive. Garbage.

Still got class tomorrow, load of stuff to take care of, but before we close this out, Unicef's Halloween project is still open for donations until November 31st, remember that every donation makes a huge difference in these kid's lives, so iff you want to share a little bit of what you have with children all over the world, visit Carlo Herrera for Unicef or Unicef Team Selena to help make a difference. The top three contributors to this project will get an interview with Selena Gomez, so if you want to get her on the blog, donate! For my fellow Laker fans out there, you might have a busy schedule and not be able to keep up with your favorite team 24/7, but here's a solution to that, just go over to the best Laker news source in the country, The Lakeshow Express. Just 45 days until Christmas, and if you plan on sending me a gift, please feel very free to do so, infact, you might find some ideas on what to get me on my twitter @CarloHerrera. (Selena Gomez's autograph!)
